Dry and Wet Screening

In different parts of the mineral processing units, the input or output materials are classified and screened. Screens are commonly used to classify coarse materials (materials with dimensions of 400 mm to 300 microns) and Hydrocyclones to classify fine materials (less than 500 microns).

Among the applications of Screens in mining and mineral industries are the following:

  • Preventing the entry of particles which are smaller than the crusher’s throat into the crusher (in order to prevent energy loss and increasing the efficiency and capacity of the crusher)
  • Preventing the entry of coarse particles from one crushing stage to the next in closed circuit.
  • Producing the final product with specific particle size distribution.
